The Center for Workforce Development at Montgomery County Community College and the Upper Perkiomen Valley Workforce Development Partnership are proud to present Montgomery County businesses with the opportunity to attend this LISTEN UP training program running this Fall 2013.
(“Listen Up”) is designed to sharpen listening, verbal and non verbal communication tools. The skills covered in the program will help employees at every level get their message across and understood. This is critical in today’s culture with everyone being fast paced and looking to technology to cut corners.
Listen Up is a 21-hour custom program consisting of 7, 3-hour modules. The program will be delivered at a pace of one module per week to maximize learning reinforcement and provide time for readings, application and small group assignments.
This program is an opportunity to evaluate listening skills. There will be a listening test administered to name listening styles. In today’s economy one has to have skills that will set them apart from others. This program will give that tool.
Attendees will learn:
WEEK 1 – How Listeners Control Communication
WEEK 2 – Listening Styles
WEEK 3 – Switching Channels without a Remote
WEEK 4 – Listening is not a Spectator Sport
WEEK 5 – How Poor Listening Damages Business Relationships
WEEK 6 – Listening Across Generations
WEEK 7 – Winning by Listening
